... or lack of it. Unfortunately I can no longer justify the personal expense of maintaining this site. Certainly not in its previous form with 4 or 5 gigs of free downloads and using 60 or more gigs of transfer a month. Its a shame really because I was paying around a hundred quid a year for all that which is a bargain. Try telling that to your Mrs tho. Anyway I can keep the site open with the forum if that will be of use to anyone. There are plenty of file sharing services about and we could make a download section for posting links. The more prolific makers could have there own section.  Or I can just shut it down or someone else can have it. I'm open to ideas anyway but they have to be quick coz if i dont pay something soon InsaneHeat will simply vanish along with all its history....

Would be good even to have the only the forum, since this is pretty much the center of Insane community.
Are the old downloads gone for good or is there a chance of still getting something out of there before they are gone?

How about you keep it open and charge £1 a year subscription fee to anyone who want to download?  I'm more than willing to chip in again and I think there maybe another 99 out there that would also?

I was wondering why you never enacted a subscription fee, similar to what KCvales did, limiting downloads per person unless they paid for more.

Now I have to word this right so if I word it wrong don't bitch at me lol...............

I have seen this site running since the game came out as a demo & loved it even beta tested.

Now Mover made websites through the years then upgraded updated hosted downloads & & uploads there was problems with other sites over the years but the staff on insaneheat handled it, Dign't we guys ....

Over the years I have had problems but so have many of you
I know for a fact Movers gone through a bad patch with health & all that s*** but no detail there,
Mover asked me if I could take over the site but it was beyond my pocket so I suggested hosting old stuff to safe space on IH.

I can keep my site up untill I kick the bucket I suppose but Mover you are the hero or should I say the MAIN MAN M8.

If Mover keeps the site up for the forum it would be Magic.

I have nearly all the extra cars & Maps since addons started but so do many others so you can share them aswell as avoiding the idiots that have been hotlinking.

Bad to hear it all... 

Times come and go. Today's life costs money, thats for sure.... notting for free.
This site is one of my topfavorites. All day... a fast peek and pick init.
I had my fun and tears with you guys... because of the site and the game.
Made "virtual" buddies inhere... and for the most who know me (onlineplay/posting) thats for lifetime, even i dont play the game anymore.

A forum for time is enough for me and when possible it would be GREAT yes.

I think the die-hard peeps init here (dunno how much peeps that are) they gonna miss it.
I do it allready...

Hope this discussion never ends, and MP winning the lottery.
Let see where this is going and make up your mind MP.
Sure there is sumwhere a solution to keep INSANEHEAT and the followers alive.

I have not been around for a very long time and tonight I decided to give this site a visit again and this is what I come back. It is very sad to hear, but sure everyone can make it with what they have. When I left a long while ago this was always a problem... to many leechers, not enough givers. It is the way people are.
I really do hope everything works out for everyone and for site. I love the site and the people on it and appreciate what everyone has given. Thank you Mover for hosting the  downloads as long as you did.

Whatever the outcome, a I owe this site more than I can afford - it will be sad to see it go, even if the fourm lived on as mentioned privously I'll still be kicking about.

Personally I believe running the forum will not be a bit like running the whole download thing. It doesnt take a quart the bandwidth the downloading does.

So don´t close the forums, at least hand it over to someone who wants to take it over.

About the downloads, have you all considered perhaps allowing only registered users to download, quota would be 3 files a week, to save from multi-signups to get more downloads there would be only 3 accounts per IP address?

Awww bugger !!. I haven't been able to use/play my computer for bloody ages due to house renovation ( don't ask ) and now I can, i thought "ah go see if insaneheat is still on the go so i can have a bit of a laugh with some of the great maps/cars that people have made and i find this 

Ah well, i suppose nothing lasts forever, at least i did get a chance to have a go with some of the vehicles about 5 to 6 years ago and for that i thank all the guys who have the skillz.

Mebbe i should have taken the time to backup some of my downloads

There are other ways to get the cars and maps ;-)

Why not install gamespy so you can play online, and talk to the people on there most evenings, I'm sure they could point you in another direction to a fruitful download site that has, if not all, most of the maps and vehicles that were availible here.

Those of you that play online and in the know will know what I'm talking about but please dont post any links in this topic in case of leechers.  I would hate for another site to have to close.

Hope to see you all online in gamespy soon for a game or 2.

Sad news indeed MP.

I haven't been around for a while nor have I even played the game for ages but I do pop in every now and again just to see whats new.

I would be willing to pay a member fee to keep the site running, there's a lot of history here, it would be sad to see it dissapear!
