[Quickie]

I've been giving my main page a face lift but I have a problem getting the hand to appear over picture links.
another thing I  cant get the hang of is getting a link to go to a certain text heading  on another page.

any ideas would be appreciated
I'm using MS Word 2000 part of MS Office 2000 Pro

oh another problem is getteing text links to change colour when hovering over them  :-/

By looking at your souurce code, MS Word 2000 sure does kick out some messy code.

For the links to change color when they're hovered over, You'll need to insert this into the head of your html file, within the style tags:

a:hover, span.MsoHyperlink
     {mso-style-update:auto;
     mso-ansi-font-size:12.0pt;
     mso-ascii-font-family:Arial;
     mso-hansi-font-family:Arial;
     color:#FFFFFF;
     mso-bidi-font-weight:bold;
     text-decoration:underline;
     text-underline:single;}

Change the color to what ever you want it to be when the link is hovered over. It's set at white right now.

BTW, I love the Cruiser skins, that's one of my favorites!

EDIT:

Ok, if you want to link to a certain spot on another page, you'll need to open up the page you want to link to and go to the spot in the HTML code where you want to link to. You'll need to insert what's called a bookmark there. You can call it anything you want. Here's an example:

Here's the text I want to link to...

Ok, there's a bookmark called "test".

Now go to the page where you're going to insert the link. put in the link and add "#test" on the end of it.  It'll look like this:

<a href="http://www.test.com/yourpage.html#test">click here</a>

So that will link to yourpage.html and it will go to the bookmark called "test".

Hope it works out for ya! Let me know if you run in to any problems with it.

Now about getting the hand to appear over picture links, I'll see if I can figure anything out. My guess is one of your javascripts is causing it to behave this way.

got the bookmarks sussed but no luck wth colour  change but its not a problem  

hope the main page is easier now and the tutorial subjects take you to the right spot

I can get the link colors to change when I edit your html file. I'll email you a copy of your index page with the links set so they change white when hovered over.

Well, this is really confusing....Your site has so many unnecessary style tags and settings, it's almost too much to handle for this task. MS Word inserts A LOT of extra, non-essential stuff.

Well whites fine but red would match my explorer settings  

I know word puts a lot of rubbish in there I just havent got round to using something else yet  

what did you have to do I havent looked yet

Well, I can get most of them to change to red, but a few of the orange ones are being very stubborn and won't change for some unknown reason   I'm just not used to the way MS Word does the style settings. They all try to overide one another, so I'm trying to sort them out

You can go ahead and switch back to your previous version, and then if I figure it out, I'll send you an update, but it may take someone with more brainpower than me

ok I loaded my original settings also made some graphics smaller plus other slight changes.

Lowest res before it starts going off screen is 1024x768

ps. I use the same as Evil  :shades: :shades:
